The Potty Training Has Begun

I said that when Cooper turned 2 that I was really going to start potty training him. So, this morning the journey has begun. I have read many articles on the issue, as well as, talked with other moms and yet I still feel like I have no clue as to what I am doing. One of the articles I read said to bring their potty chair out into the living room where they are more comfortable. So, that is what I did this morning. I put him in his big boy underwear and let him sit on his potty. I set a timer for 10 minutes and when the timer went off he had to take off his underwear and try to go pee in the potty. Well, it worked the first time. But, it didn't work the second time. So, if anybody has any suggestions or advice, please let me know.

Potty training is not my thing. Sorry, I have no advice. Good luck. It may help if Bryce is involved. Then you are not in it alone.

Good luck! Just be consistent and encouraging. Brayden was devastated when he wet his big boy underwear, so after that first time, it didn't happen very often. He was almost 3 at the time.

You know i got lucky!! Our friend Jody Phillips has this way with potty training my kids and has done succesfful with Weston and Katelin! i don't know what she does but she's like Mrs. Piggle Wiggle. We just let her take the kids for a couple of days and when they return they are all potty trained! I can see if she'll rent her services :-) Good luck! My turn is coming soon with Savannah Ugghh!!

I shouldn't be giving advice for this because it took over a year to potty train London. But, remember every child is different and what worked for Kamryn didn't work for London. Being consistent is key and I think potty charts with rewards help :). Good luck. I've also heard boys are harder.

ok i've potty trained 3 boys now, with all 3 sticker charts worked make a chart( a piece of paper with squares drawn on it) when they fill up a row with sticker make a big deal and let him pick a toy out of the treat bag(toys from dollar tree, candy, hot wheels)i never used a potty chair i used a seat that goes on top of the toilet.have bryce take him into the potty and let him watch daddy a few times and take him like every 30min until he pees then once an hour if you do it too much he won't want to do it. and the next child will be easier man nate practically potty trained himself! ummm any more questions just ask.
